About

Talking Bikes is a European action where learners and trainers meet regularly to talk about bikes and to practice activities related to cycling. They promote the knowledge of cycling. What is a bicycle? How are named the various parts in the partners’ languages? Why is it important to cycle? What are the physical, psychological and social benefits? How can we give a bigger place to bicycles in towns? How can we use cycling activities as a mean to discover new places and new cultures? They also exchange about skills which are in danger of being forgotten like cycle maintenance. They learn these skills from other ‘learners’ (volunteers, mentors and those over 50) and then put these skills into practice in real situations – by cycling in the countries involved, in the mobilities, and exchanging the skills and improving their language skills, thereby furthering their knowledge and employability.
